FAQs
Why This Camp?
We know that enrolling your student in a new program takes trust. That’s why we’re sharing articles just for parents who want to understand the bigger picture: why science communication matters, what students really learn, and how these skills support long-term success.
Celebrate What They Create
Students will earn digital badges for each skill area, which can be shared with family and on social media. Final projects are polished, presentable, and meaningful - something students might want to keep in their portfolio or share with their college application.

Learning Experience & Outcomes
What will students learn?
Campers develop skills in storytelling, interviewing, and media editing. They’ll learn to explain complex topics clearly—and gain confidence doing it.
What will my student walk away with?
Each student will complete a polished final project, such as a podcast episode or narrated video, using pro-level tools. They’ll also gain lifelong skills in public speaking, writing, and digital creation.
Do students get feedback?
Yes. Students receive direct feedback throughout the camp—both from the instructor and their peers—designed to build skill and confidence.
Technology & Tools
What tech do we need?
A laptop or desktop computer with internet access and a built-in mic is required. We recommend using the Chrome browser. Headphones and an external mic are nice to have, but not required. All software is provided and beginner-friendly.
Does my student need editing experience?
Nope! We’ll teach everything they need to know, step-by-step. We make tools like Descript and Canva easy to use for all skill levels.
