How Camp Works
Each week builds toward a final project - a podcast episode, video, or presentation - that lets students apply what they’ve learned.
Here’s how the camp unfolds:
Week 1: Storytelling fundamentals and writing exercises for clear, engaging science communication.
Week 2: Public speaking techniques and podcasting basics, with hands-on media tool practice.
Week 3: Media creation and project refinement, including peer feedback and editing skills.
Week 4: Final polish, expert feedback, and our student showcase event.
By the end of the camp, students will have developed a complete project they can share with family, friends, and future audiences.
Learn from the Experts
In addition to interactive learning sessions, SciComm Summer Camp brings in guest speakers (science communicators, media creators, and industry professionals) who share their insights and offer feedback on student projects.
Students will have the opportunity to:
Attend live Q&A sessions with guest experts
Watch exclusive interviews on science storytelling and media careers
Receive feedback on their final projects from working professionals
This year’s lineup will be announced soon. Stay tuned!
